A comedy A-list, including George Takei, Leslie Jordan and Bruce Vilanch, already attended a table reading.

Two of the creative, gay minds behind The Golden Girls are ready for a whole new generation of laughs! Stan Zimmerman and James Berg, who cut their teeth on the perennial TV favorite before going on to classics like Roseanne and penning feature film A Very Brady Sequel, now offer fans a new pair of queer-centric comedies.

Lesbian-focused premium outlet tello Films is already streaming the out writing duo’s Sandra Bernhard-led Secs & Execs. Up next, said series cocreator Zimmerman, is a “gay men’s Golden Girls” (a comparison which might be slightly redundant).

“Jim and I just wrote a pilot called Silver Foxes, about four gay men,” Zimmerman shared during an interview on Party Foul Radio with Pollo & Pearl (https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/pollodelmar/episodes/2017-06-07T16_33_06-07_00).

Yeah, I have to say I, too. would not be interested. And to be clear, I am NOT homophobic. I'm pro-gay rights. I just see no need to hijack a wonderful, one-of-a-kind show to do it in another format. And I am also not pleased with this current trend of "remakes" of vintage movies and/or TV shows. Come up with your own new, creative ideas for entertainment, producers. That's what they pay you the big bucks for.

It's on a streaming service no one has heard of, and it's not like they're calling it 'The Golden Gays.' It's just a show about elderly homosexual men who are friends so it was going to get unnecessary comparisons to TGG.

From the first post: tello Films. It's an exclusive lesbian film and webseries channel. Maybe the article got its destination wrong and they'll have their own streaming network for men. Safe to say this series won't be shoved down anyone's face in any case.

Interesting. I'll just stick to the original show.

I don't think this was ever intended to be a remake, just a similar idea that was compared to GG in a network explanation - meant for network executives that have the thought capacity of your average pudding cup.

if you don't like the concept of the show then don't watch it - it looks like you' have to be trying pretty hard to accidentally have it crammed down your throat anyways.
