Breaking Bad-inspired Cocktail Bar in an RV Will Pop-Up in NYC This Summer

Apparently people can’t get enough of bars and restaurants themed around "Breaking Bad", the AMC show about chemistry teacher turned meth dealer that ended four years ago.

London-based company Lollipop is bringing its Walter White-inspired cocktail bar pop-up ABQ to New York this summer, and close to 1,500 people have reportedly already signed up.

The bar, which has popped up in the UK for the last two years, is set in an RV, just like White’s meth lab in the show. Up to 30 people at a time can enter, where they will find a “makeshift laboratory to cook cocktails using molecular mixology techniques,” according to a statement.

One will be a “Saul’s C2H60,” a semi-frozen cocktail using dry ice and infusion technique nitrogen cavitation. Staff inside dress up in the show’s yellow jumpsuits, and the word “HEISENBERG” — White’s alias in the show — is drawn on a wall.

Lollipop representatives said that the exact location of the RV has yet to be determined, but they are looking at several options in Brooklyn. It will open in July for a few months, and tickets start at $45 for a two-hour stint and three cocktails in the bar.

The company is known for creating outlandish experiential bar and restaurants, such as the infamous restaurant pop-up where the staff did not wear clothes.

Reviews of the London "Breaking Bad" pop-up said “no attention to detail is left spared” and that it was “a pretty authentic experience” — or, we assume, as authentic as a bar pretending to be a meth lab in an RV from a TV show can be.

And while the claim that nearly 1,500 people have signed up already sounds dubious, history says that Breaking Bad-themed pop-ups do very well in New York. The two-day Los Pollos Hermanos pop-up earlier this year literally only served curly fries, and people still waited in crazy long lines for it. On one day, 1,900 people showed up.

A cafe in Bushwick is also inspired by the show.
