Kesha lived out most of our nightmares last night when she went in for a hug from Jerry Seinfeld and got shut down. Hard. On camera.

It happened when the two of them were working the red carpet for A Night of Laughter and Song at the Kennedy Center, in Washington, D.C., on Monday. Seinfeld, 63, was in the middle of an interview when a very excited Kesha, 30, came up to him and said, “I love you so much. Can I give you a hug?” The notoriously quirky comedian looked surprised but smiled and said “thanks” to the compliment but “no thanks” to the hug request. “Please?” she asked. “No, thanks,” (https://www.buzzfeed.com/christianzamora/jerry-seinfeld-and-the-kesha-hug) again he said. “A little one,” she said, moving in closer. “Yeah, no thanks,” he stated while completely backing away. He shouldn't be obligated to hug her. She was invading his personal space. I am on Jerry's side completely.

Exactly. You can't say that the proper spelling of someone's name includes a random symbol, lol. If that's the case, I'm changing the "I" in my name to an exclamation point.

Ke$ha Responds to Seinfeld Snub: "Hugging is Magical"

In a new interview on Sirius XM, singer Ke$ha said the "hugging incident" almost made her swear off hugs for good. But instead, she doubled down on the gesture.

“I had a moment where I was thinking to myself, ‘Maybe I should stop trying to hug everyone and attack them.’ And then I was like, **** that, no,” Ke$ha said. “I love hugging. Hugging is magical, hugging is beautiful. It’s a beautiful exchange of wonderful soul energy. ‘I accept you.’ It’s this beautiful connection.”



Ke$ha got the perfect opportunity for redemption a few weeks later when she performed at the same Firefly Music Festival as her artistic idol, Bob Dylan. He was much more amenable to hugging.

“My idol in life, Bob Dylan, agreed to meet up with me because we were playing the same festival. I was so scared because I had just gotten hug-denied. I was a little hug-traumatized. So I walked up, and kind of stood there and smiled. And he just opened his beautiful arms and gave me the most wonderful, healing Bob Dylan hug that I have ever dreamed of. I could just care less about anything else.”
