Mine is a soda called Big Red and it tastes great but can be rare to find in some places because it's sold in Texas but I get Big Red at Walmart

I voted other because I only drink Diet. Either Diet coke or Dr. Pepper. And not with meals, as a caffeine boost in the afternoon in lieu of coffee.

I also like Mountain Dew and Coke, but I pick Dr. Pepper most of the time.

I only drink it for staying awake since coffee doesn't agree with me.

I like Mountain Dew, Pepsi, Cherry Cola, Lemon Lime Soda. Ginger Ale is like a tonic for me, depending on what I have for dinner I sometimes get a touch of heartburn afterwards, and Ginger Ale tends to help ease the heartburn.

I can't drink carbonated beverages, it burns my throat to drink them. The
only way I can drink pop, is to let it sit in the fridge with the cap off, until
it goes flat! On the rare occasion, I do that, I like flat Crème Soda and
flat Root Beer. Sounds strange, but that's what I do!

I don't drink soda.

I also like Grape Soda, Orange Soda, and Strawberry Soda but I haven't had those for quite some time. Root Beer is OK once in a while but I'm not really a big fan of Root Beer.

I don't drink much soda anymore, but Sun Drop is my favorite.

I used to love Jones Soda - bubble gum, pineapple upside-down cake, cream soda, cherry-lime, black cherry, a few others.

Where I come from we refer to it as pop. And I don't drink it anyway.

Do you remember a soda called Slice? It was made by Pepsi and was all the rage from 1984-1997 and came in all kinds of flavors including Lemon Lime Orange Apple and Cherry Coke too and it was so popular in the 80's that Slice used many celebrities in it's commercials including Newsradio star Phil Hartman appeared in a Slice commercial too. And Slice was made with real fruit juice too

I am a westerner, I call it soda. Can others say where they are from and what they call it? (I am pretty sure San Franciscans call it poison LOL)

Originally from the East Coast, we called it soda there. Now I'm on the west coast and it's called soda here as well!;)

Grew up in Washington State and we called it pop. We even had a Pop 'n Shop (don't think they're around anymore), but we'd get bottles of pop from there, then you'd take the bottles back in to them.
And we call it, at least around this area, pop in Oregon.

Must just be certain parts of the Midwest because I've lived in Missouri my whole life and most people here call it soda.

Coca Cola is mainly my favorite soda ever. As an St. Louis Native, I also liked Vess Soda because all of the flavors are great.

Most colas, also ginger ale.

My favorite is Vanilla Coke. Also regular Coke. I've never cared much for Pepsi but will drink it at restaurants if Coke is not available.

My #2 is probably Dr. Pepper.

#3 would be Root Beer.

I used to like lemon lime/7-up a lot but I got tired of it.
Same with Ginger Ale.

Years ago, I like Cream Soda a lot, too.

I shopped at my local grocer yesterday and on sale they had the 2 liter bottle store brand sodas for 77 cents a bottle, so I thought what the heck I'll splurge and I bought six bottles, six different flavors. This is what I bought:

Peach

That Peach soda sounds interesting, I didn't even know they made Peach flavor soda. I'm curious to try it, it's the summer months now and I think the Peach soda will taste refreshing on a hot sultry day. :cool:

Of course I remember Vault. Yeah it was just like Surge after it got discontinued. It reminded me of Surge mixed with Mello Yellow. I was majorly bummed when that got discontinued too. At least Surge is back though.... in selective markets and online.

I like Mountain Dew also, but I drink the one called Mountain Dew throwback. I guess that one is supposed to be the original recipe and I think it tastes better compared to the "modern" Mountain Dew.

any one heard of falvor water? its not sparkling water ,i don't like sparkling water!! i actually stopped drinking soda!! i do get coke or icy when we go out to eat or go to movie theater!! i just now drink flavor water! plus there's no clarions or sugar! they got pine apple coconut cherry lime ad orange cream soda! we also get wild cherry ,black cherry & white grape!! ! now i found 3 new ones green apple watermelon & plane Apple!! now i found another one wild berry!! they only coast $1 dollar at wal mart!! but i was drinking like 15 to 20 diet cokes an day!! they would gave me an head ace & upset my stomach!! i also drink like v8 juice!! i like straw berry fusion & splash!! straw berry fusion tastes like fruit punch then splash tastes like organ fruit punch!!

Did you ever drink Sprite Remix? It was a good soda that was a spin-off of Sprite and it came in two different flavors including a flavor called Aruba Jam and was made in 2003 and then disappeared the following year

This is a great poll Bestie! Sorry I missed it this long(SUPER SUPER BUSY with work right now). I live on Coke Zero but am also fond of A&W Diet Root Beer, Sprite Zero and practically all of the diet ginger ales-- but Schweppes is my favorite there.

The only thing I'd say with your choices is there is a big difference between Pepsi and Coke. I unabashedly prefer Coke FAR over Pepsi but I do think Pepsi is OK.

I also REALLY REALLY LOVE almost all of the Sparkling Ice beverages esp. Apple.

I only do diet bevs bec I'm mildly diabetic. Thankfully most sugar based products taste cloyingly sweet to me. And that is a blessing-because sweets make my blood sugar go through the roof.

I always like noticing where soda is called soda and where it's called Pop. In NYC we say soda. But I also have relatives in Pittsburgh and there soda is called pop. Actually Pittsburgh has some charming/ cute ways of saying things: like gum bands for rubber bands and redding up for cleaning up. But that's a whole other topic.

(BTW if you ever get to visit Pittsburgh it's a gorgeous and charming city. If I ever have to leave NYC I'd seriously consider moving there!)

Yes Livewire is orange but it's still around. In fact I bought a 12 pack just last week.

Have you ever had a soda called Cactus Cooler? It's a soda that's a mix of orange soda and pineapple juice and I buy it often because it's a good soda and you can find it at Walmart

Regarding the topic of calling it soda vs. pop! It was funny, the other day I was watching One day at a time, which is supposed to be set in Indianapolis, Indiana (Mid west) . Well they have a chalkboard in the kitchen where they write grocery lists , etc. I always try to make out what is written there if the camera happens to catch the chalkboard.:) Well the other day one of the grocery items was Pop! ;) It was funny, I thought of this thread right away!:D

I also notice that they seem to drink a lot of root beer. ;) Is that a common pop /soda for the Mid west? I remember as a kid driving through the Mid west with my family. We were driving from Philadelphia to Missouri, and stopping for lunch at a place called 'Dogs and Suds " ! I remember the hot dogs and really good root beer! Now this was early 70's mind you and it still really sticks in my mind! :happyface Than when I started watching ODAAT a couple years ago and they seemed to drink root beer a lot! I thought of that Dogs and Suds we ate at way back when ! :)

Never heard of that, sound interesting. When I do into Mcdonalds and use the drink station I often mix the Hi C orange with Sprite. I wouldn't do it in the drive thru though since I'm picky about getting the mix right. In fact that's why I like Livewire, it reminds me of it.
