This is more or less a perfect LITB episode. Well-written, including a nice scene with Beaver and Ward, June's normal snooping (without the normal, "Ward! Some eighth grade siren has her clutches on my baby!") And, before this we never knew the Beaver threw his brussels sprouts down a heater vent.

I thought he just put them in his pocket.

I thought Donna's mother was like a Stepford wife as she looks blankly at Bob and doesn't have an opinion. I thought Ward and Beaver were going to have a facts of life talk when he asked him about girls.

Wally acted like a second father all very mature and stiff. Eddie was a breath of fresh air telling Beaver to leave town before the king comes with his battle axe.

I was thinking, on the heater vent, that he kept coming up with novel things to do with them (I know I would!), and the pocket came later.

Yeah Eddie and Wally were well-written too. It would have been great to see another season. Wally and Eddie could have gone to Mayfield U, Beaver would go to Mayfield High...who knows what they might have gotten into in a 7th season? (from what I've read, one thing would be color)

I think we saw enough of Beaver and Wally grow older. Now Eddie was coming into his own. I would have loved to see Season 7 just to see Eddie's antics in college. I know Eddie did some rather uncivil things but in the end he had to learn a lesson and teach kids not to be an Eddie. Sometimes after one of Ward's heart to hearts I think Beaver or Wally would turn to the camera and say "And there's a lesson in that for everyone."

I would liked to have seen a spin-off series after "Leave it to Beaver" ended showing Eddie going off to college. Perhaps Lumpy could have been included as well (he had to graduate from High School eventually!!)

Lumpy got a football scholarship, didn't he?
