DazzlerSparkler 05-27-2017, 01:24 PM Oh lord the nudist camp segment.
I get the hippie-esque ways about their beliefs but getting scammed by him....lol.
But then he molested the girl. Like...I do not mean to sound cruel but how do you not know that was just bound to happen...but it also makes me wonder if there was more incident that didn't get reported at the camp...

That was such a weird segment. I loved how after the girl said she was molested by him, they chose to believe him over her.
I guess they really wanted those video store investments. I like how they're super secure and protective with interviewing people, and barely allowing anyone in, but when it comes to their money in that video store then they trust in a complete stranger over a girl from a long term family.
After he ran off with their money THEN they wanted to believe that little girl, and then claim "she's scarred for life". Weird they didn't care about her when he had their money. They looked as bad as their morals. Disgusting.
James T 05-27-2017, 01:45 PM It is classic grooming-the parents often are so entranced by the person they will not believe their own child.

True, but as soon as he took off with their money then all of a sudden "ooooh he did do it, he scarred that poor girl for life"  yeah right.
And it wasn't even the family, it was the entire community who had their money invested in them who didn't believe her. They clearly cared more about their money that the well-being of that child.

That is what really shocked me. The woman's like "The town chose to believe him over her" instead of acting horrified. Bothers me. I hope the camp closed

They're still open unfortunately. I guarantee if none of them had invested, then he would've been kicked out, and she would've been believed.

That always bothered the hell out of me, too. If I were that girl's mother, I'd sure have some choice words for any sympathy offered my family after the fact.

I really hope the family left. That segment legitimately pissed me off.
Cooker3 02-04-2019, 04:36 PM My favourite thing about the segment was the very careful placement of the camera in the nudist colony. That must have been a tough case for the editors.
I was very happy when I read that this guy is still sitting in prison, 30 years later.

It's kind of shocking considering how many of the people convicted of murder have been paroled. Greg Webb served a measly 8 years (I realize he was convicted of manslaughter, but still). Bob Hall (another manslaughter plea), Jerry Gervasoni, the killer of Lucie Turmel, Paulette Hite (I believe she also got away with a manslaughter plea), and the infuriating list goes on...
Thankfully this guy's sentence wasn't so lenient.
