Another thread on the Paramount Blue Mountain logo being lost, got me to thinking how original programs have been changed since their original showings.

Original network versions of "Father Knows Best":

All seasons had Robert Young giving a preview of the next episode at the end, which have mostly been lost.

Season 1 - had a Screen Gems logo with a TV Screen and flashing stars. This was not restored on DVD and is not included on the syndication prints.

Season 2 - opener had kids at kitchen door. A few prints have this opener, but most episodes have season 1 opener. SG logo changed in mid-season to more familiar statue, which lasted the remainder of the series. DVD issues now generally restore SG logos for remainder of series, but few syndication prints have SG logo from now on--they have a hodgepodge of later logos. Season 2 DVDs did not restore original opener.

Season 3 - opener had family on couch looking at pictures. One or 2 syndication prints have this opener, but most episodes now have season 1 opener. Music on end credits slightly changed, but most episodes now use season 1 music. DVD issues did not restore original opener; they have season 1 opener.

Season 4 - opener had kids entering thru kitchen swinging door, with new music. Most syndication episodes have season 1 opener. A few syndication episodes have a "hybrid" opener with the season 4 opener and the season 1 audio. DVD issues restored original opener.

Season 5 - same opener as season 4, with possibly updated music. Syndication prints and DVD issues used hybrid opener (above).

Season 6 - same opener, with updated music. Syndication prints use hybrid opener as above. DVD issues restored original opener, but most episodes on DVD have wrong closing theme music.

Most Screen Gems shows are hacked up like this.

I know Happy Days syndication prints are totally hacked up, and DVDs did not restore a lot of music. Any other shows screwed up like this?
