I hear NBC has made its decision on the remaining "Chicago" drama, opting not to renew freshman "Chicago Justice" for a second season.

The other shows in the "Chicago" franchise (Fire, P.D., Med) were all renewed earlier this month, while the decision on the newest and lowest-rated entry in the franchise, "Justice", was tabled until after the upfronts.

For its freshman season, "Chicago Justice" averaged a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating (Live+7) vs. 1.9 for "Chicago P.D." and "Chicago Med" and 2.3 or "Chicago Fire".

"Chicago Justice" was higher rated than two other drama series renewed by NBC, "Taken", which pulled in a 1.4, and "Shades of Blue" (1.3).

The drama starred Philip Winchester as attorney Peter Stone, the son of "Law & Order's" Ben Stone, and Carl Weathers as State's Attorney Mark Jefferies.

It's currently unknown if "Chicago P.D." star Jon Seda will return next season following "Justice's" cancellation.

If Dick Wolf is going for another Chicago spinoff, how about Chicago Journal? The last show about a newspaper was Lou Grant so how about Dick?

Dick Wolf actually did "Deadline" (2000) which featured the staff of the fictional newspaper shown on "Law & Order", the New York Ledger.

It didn't do great.
