When I was watching Growing Pains Season 1 on DVD I noticed that in the episode Springsteen that the kitchen in the Growing Pains house was remodeled and I wondered if ABC wanted to do changes to the Growing Pains house every season? Because when I watched the Springsteen episode and every scene that took place in the kitchen it looked different. Take for example instead of a regular direct dial phone that usually sits on a table in the greenhouse I saw that The Seavers have a blue slimline telephone hanging on a wall and I remember that in the first episode the kitchen phone was a direct dial phone just like the phone in their living room. The second thing I noticed about the kitchen on Growing Pains is that the pictures hanging on the wall are all different in each episode. Did ABC do these updates to the Growing Pains house to save money and to give the show a fresh look every season of Growing Pains?
