I know a lot of songs have much more obscure meanings, but to focus on Davy Jones' "Cheer Up Sleepy Jean" is the singer (Davy or whomever sings it) singing to a "homecoming queen"? Is the singer supposed to be the "Daydream Believer"?
Why not a valedictorian than a homecoming queen? ( I guess a homecoming queen can only be female, at least traditionally).
