In the 90's ABC and Disney launched Recess that was created by former Nickelodeon cartoon writer Paul Germain that featured a cast of kids on many adventures throughout their school and Recess became so popular that it even had a movie called Recess School's Out and a line of Recess plush dolls made by Mattel were released at toy stores as well. Reruns of Disney's Recess also aired on Toon Disney for a short time. It's a surprise that Disney had an amazing deal for a Saturday Morning Cartoon block after Disney brought ABC in 1997 and with cartoons like Recess and Pepper Ann Disney knew how big and popular their new cartoons would become and Recess proved it
