Several hit songs from 1976 have edited versions of the songs on the vinyl 45. A few examples are:

Blinded By The Light by Manfred Mann is heavily edited on the 45, but the full version is long so I can see why the 45 version is edited.

Slow Ride by Foghat also got a heavy edit on the vinyl 45, but the full version drags out to over 8 minutes so again I can see why the 45 version is edited.

Carry On Wayward Son by Kansas is edited on the vinyl 45, but it's edited in a way that doesn't detract too much from the full version of the song.

Evil Woman by ELO is an interesting one, the original vinyl 45 issue has an edited version of the song, but a few years later it was issued again on vinyl 45 as an oldie but goodie, and this one has the full version. I have the reissue 45 with the full version, it's not easy to find these days so I'm glad I have it.
