In addition to "Dr. Ken", ABC has also axed comedies "The Real O'Neals" and "Imaginary Mary".

The ratings were bad, but the controversies (http://forums.previously.tv/topic/39713-real-oneals-in-the-media-meanwhile-in-the-real-world/) certainly hurt too. Noah Galvin slamming (http://www.vulture.com/2016/06/noah-galvin-has-nothing-to-hide.html) Colton Haynes' coming out story and people (including Grey’s star Sara Ramirez (http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv/sara-ramirez-calls-abc-real-o-neals-biphobia-article-1.2975153)) taking issue with the portrayal of bisexuals.

The Real O'Neals (http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/culture/matt-philbin/2017/05/12/god-good-abc-cancels-anti-catholic-real-oneals) may have had potential (and did pretty decent ratings its first season) but eventually, it became obvious that Kenny's character was just going to be a walking, talking bundle of gay stereotypes and tropes.
