I know that they are only characters, but the chemistry was good enough that there are some shots where it looks like June is ready to tell Ward to head upstairs. :D

I think it was more likely in the early seasons. Especially when Wally and Beaver went up to Aunt Martha's.

Good point....they were the perfect 50's couple. Just hope they locked the door, The Beaver could sneak in looking for his baseball glove!!!!!!

They were much more affectionate in those early seasons. Ward was quite frisky in the first few. I believe in Captain Jack Ward is kissing her neck as she stirred the imaginary soup at the stove. Later they are very stiff and formal what happened? Barbara was quite taken with Hugh. She said that in an interview. I think when Ward was wearing his suit he was unapproachable.

Then nothing went on in seasons 4 - 6...I don't think we saw him in any casual clothes in the later seasons.

In "The Party Spoiler" we actually see Ward and June in their bedroom. They are watching television while the teenagers are downstairs having their party. I believe June is adhering to the old Production Code rule of having one foot on the floor while she is sitting on the bed.

As long as the beds are apart it was okay to sit on the bed. It was so weird seeing June all dressed up and sitting on the bed. Why not just a shirt and a pair of pants? I think Ward at least didn't have a suit on. I think that's the episode when June announces that she and Ward are going to pick up the ice cream and cake they're dressed like they're ready to go to a White House dinner.

I love the scene in the first episode where Ward barely has the door open and June comes rushing out of the kitchen, turns him around and hugs him. That is so romantic!
