I feel sorry for George. He was one of the most kind-hearted and innocent characters on the show yet the writers really gave him the business on several occasions.
Almost all the episodes centered around him are about how once again a woman who he thought he loved turns out wrong for him, or is using him, or not what she seems to be. He could never find love and it seemed that was something he really wanted. I'm thinking of the one where he was dating Dutch's sister and they were at the drive-in, and it doesn't work out. It's just heartbreaking. What did George do to deserve this?
The other characters, often Stephanie, were always taking advantage of him and not giving him the respect he deserved.
The first-season episode where he saw the flying saucer I think was a good episode overall, but again George is put through such torment. No one in town believes him and they keep making fun of him. Thankfully Dick stood by him.
