Are there any TV series that portray small-town or rural life negatively, like an anti-Mayberry?

Mama's Family was sorta an anti-Mayberry view of the of rural life. The original sketches on the Burnett show were even darker than that.

Since the thread is posed as "TV Shows", I'll say any network news show, including the Today show and GMA.

Roseanne-They lived in Lanford, a fictional Illinois town and they were always saying how dull, small and boring it was. But it did have a pretty good sized mall and usually malls are in bigger cities.

Picket Fences from the late 80s or early 90s I can't remember exactly when it ran now.
