YYYYYEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of my most wanted unreleased series. Just recently I was in the mood to watch Rhoda and was feeling down that it's still not complete. This is great news.

WOW I thought I would never see this. Wish they would reissue season 1 uncut and with pristine prints like the rest of the series.

I thought that I would add that we have waited almost 7 years for this!

Woohooooooooooooo!!!!!!! Now I won't have to wait for MeTV to air it!!!!

Maybe we'll also get the remaining seasons of "Mr. Belvedere" and "Small Wonder" since they're also from 20th Century Fox.

I have to admit that when I first saw this thread title on the front page, I thought it was for "Alice"....I almost peed my pants but "Rhoda" is also great news, too!

Same here, I also thought it was Alice at first. But it's still good news either way.

If you already bought the other four seasons, then you might as well get it. If you have never gotten any before, then just wait for a complete series release.

Hopefully Shout does a Complete Series set, rectifying the bad masters used for S1 and frame rate problems of S4.

Hopefully they do this!

They did fix the problems with the "Mister Ed" set when the final season of that series was finally released.

I hope they do this too. I'll buy this, but I really would buy a complete series with unedited Season 1.

Same with me. This was one of my favorite shows of all times (despite it's ups and downs along the way). I didn't buy 1-4 yet, but if the do release a boxed set (and they would be smart to do it around Christmas), then I will be buying the boxed set. :)

If you haven't bought any seasons on DVD or just a couple that makes sense to wait for a complete series release

I'm surprised it wasn't part of a Complete series release since season 5 only was a total of 9 episodes

Season five had 13 episodes; they only aired 9 on CBS in the Fall of 1978.

No, I pre-ordered it back in June and I got a message today from Amazon saying they need my approval before they can go forward. So they haven't even shipped it yet. I'm ticked off, I was looking forward to watching it today. Grrr!

Where I live (Ohio), none of the stores around me have any good titles I'm interested in. They just have the latest seasons of "The Walking Dead," "The Big Bang Theory," "Game of Thrones," etc. So most of the time I just order online. Although I'd probably prefer just going to the store and buying it that way, but I don't really have that option anymore.

Stores here don't have anything either except new sitcoms and HBO series.

I used to love buying my DVDs at Walmart but can't do that anymore so I have to resort to Amazon....and then Walmart wonders why Amazon is a competition...

I used to get my DVDs at Suncoast in the mall and Best Buy. On occasion, if either of those stores didn't have it, I'd check Wal-Mart, Meijer or Target. Suncoast went out years ago. Best Buy has turned to crap with what they sell. My local Target went out (which was terrible for me as I loved that store). All that's left is Wal-Mart and Meijer. Meijer just sells current shows, while Wal-Mart will have some of the classic shows. But I never go there confident I'll get the DVD title I'm looking for.

I got mine at the mall today. As soon as I entered the store, the salesgirl asked "Weren't you looking for the final Rhoda?". She remembered from Tuesday when I got Green Acres there. They got 2 copies yesterday and she had them behind the counter. I will be watching this weekend.

Don't you just like that? When employees remember you. I've had that happen to me at several music/dvd stores. It's nice that they remember and really pay attention to their customer.

What are frame rate problems?

I finished season 4 a week ago or so, and I didn't notice anything unusual . . .

Although I usually have wine with dinner, haha . . . .

Frame rate problems mean they remastered at the wrong speed so that the video looks very jittery. RHODA Season 4 suffered from this (Season 5 was fine). Shout Factory also did this with Season 7 of ALL IN THE FAMILY although apparently it was fixed on the Complete Series set.

There will never be a Complete Series. Shout Factory has not released any vintage TV series on DVD in years.

Off topic, but I wonder if this is why the rolled closing credits on some shows look so jittery (like Mama's Family or The Honeymooners on MeTV, for example).

I don't get ME-TV but I have heard that Mama's Family looks bad, and yes, that is the reason.
