I saw Growing Pains Season 1 on DVD and I noticed that in it's intro they use art and famous paintings rather than photos and scenes of the actors and I would like to know why the creators of Growing Pains decide to do this? I think it's a very clever intro for a sitcom and very unique and the intro ends with a photo of the actors. Was this intro of Growing Pains also a music video for BJ Thomas's song As Long As We Got Each Other?

The "GP" intro always reminds me of a cross between the "Cheers" and "Family Ties" intros.

I thought the intro of Growing Pains Season 1 was one of the most impressive intros I've ever seen in any sitcom and I wonder if some of the paintings that are used in the intro are actual paintings? Because when the Growing Pains intro first begins it shows a painting from Egypt or some other country. Does that painting shown at the beginning of the Growing Pains Season 1 intro really exist and what is the name of the painting?
Thank you very much for your great reply

I forgot about that but you're right, they did use art just like Family Ties did. And I never realized how similar the two intros are. Both are great shows for sure!

Did the Growing Pains Season 1 intro also have some Norman Rockwell paintings that feature families too? Because when I watched Growing Pains on DVD I think I spotted some Norman Rockwell paintings in the intro
