ABC, CBS and NBC's weeknight late night schedules consist primarily of talk/variety shows.
I was thinking, these networks should add scripted drama programs to their late-night schedule with content that is more in line with what you would expect on a made-for-cable drama and thus wouldn't fly normally on a broadcast network.
ABC would air theirs at 1:05 AM ET/12:05 CT
CBS at 1:35 AM ET/12:35 CT
NBC at 2:05 AM ET/1:05 CT (replacing Today 4th hour repeat)
These shows would be DVR-friendly. These three networks need a way to compete with what's being offered on cable and streaming services and they have nothing to lose. So I think they should go for it.
