While my mom was watching The Amazing Race I entertained myself by watching some of the sitcom DVDs I got for my birthday and one of the TV sitcoms I got was Growing Pains and when I watched it I was amazed at how fun a sitcom Growing Pains was when it debuted in 1985 and I was surprised that before the pilot episode and the second episode began it would start with a cool introduction that told fans about Maggie and Jason Seaver and the stories behind them and that was impressive. Another thing that impressed me about Growing Pains was that the writers put every thought into each episode to make them fun and great every time. It's hard to believe that when Growing Pains began Kirk Cameron would go from top sitcom star to teen hearthrob due to the success of Growing Pains and his character Mike Seaver is so cool with his cool personality and daredevil attitude and that really made the show a hit. And of course Alan Thicke was so perfect for the role of Jason Seaver and the way he interacted with Joanna Kerns was flawless and I thought he was funny and had a smart yet cool personality and if I had a husband I would choose one like Jason Seaver. I think ABC really dreamed that Growing Pains would be a successful sitcom and I think Growing Pains really set the success that ABC would have with other 80's sitcoms like Full House Family Matters Perfect Strangers and many others. I was impressed with this show and I recommend you buy it and watch it
