Specifically a few minutes into the episode "Each Dawn I diet" you see a closeup of Mr Kinkaid's hand holding a marker and marking an "X" on a calendar so as to check off the days he spent without smoking cigarettes and he is using his left hand. His hand still seems a bit unsteady as he writes the "X."
Perhaps the take that you would see on the YouTube version of the episode might be different than what is on a DVD or CD of the same episode.
At first I thought that maybe the director had the scene filmed with Mr Kinkaid using his left hand because it would make it easier for the camera to focus on his hand and then turn to the left and show the family applauding as he made it another day without smoking.

However on "Pin It On Danny" there is a scene toward the end in which he is eating cake with Shirley and Lori at the kitchen table and he is using his left hand to hold his fork.
