I hate it when the phone rings and it's a sales call saying "you need to fix your credit" or "you need to get your car rate lowered"...sometimes I can have the option of the "do not call", but other times...they don't!

Do you have caller id? 99.999% of the time the id will say "unknown caller, toll free number"or something that mean a telemarketer is trying to call you so they can hawk something that doesn't interest you. When you see such a prompt, simply IGNORE IT.

I just received a recorded call that this was my final notice, the IRS has a law suit against me and to call the number to provide payment, to prevent further litigation. These calls are scams.

I was getting unsolicited/unwanted phone calls so I programmed my phone number to accept calls only from specific phone numbers. Now, the only calls I get are from friends or family members. So when my phone rings, I know it's someone I want to talk to and not some telemarketer or scumbag scam artist.
