One thing I don't remember about the show is the character of Myra! I was still watching the show into 1995-1996 and don't remember her drooling over Steve!

But the other thing is I have no idea when Rachel moved away! When did that happen and was it explained why--

I mean--she just up and leaves and Richie doesn't go with her! That sort of makes no sense!

In real life Telma Hopkins went to another show, but I am not sure why her character left. It may have been mentioned briefly, but I don't recall much information about Rachael's departure.

I can't believe that you forgot about Myra! You gotta love Myra!

But as for Rachel, there was no explanation for why and when she moved out and left her son with Harriet and Carl. She did return for a few episodes in season 6 (I think), and it was like she never had moved out. Supposedly it was mentioned in the last Christmas episode (season 9), that Rachel had been busy taking care of a sick aunt.

I loved her relationship with Harriette. My most favorite interaction is when Harriette told Laura why Rachel's cheer leading pom poms were retired. She was like, "They had to be retired, they were starting to sag!" :D :D :D
