I'd date it somewhere between 1954 and 1959. Anyone have any info on this? To my knowledge, they never worked together. Fascinating either way.

Moe Howard always said costello stole his act from his brother Curly. i grew up watching the 3 stooges. i loved them before jackie and the rest. costello was similar to joe besser in style. too wimpy and girly. Jackie was unequalled in his humor. and Art was the perfect partner.

To be fair, Curly borrowed a little bit from Jimmy Durante and Hugh Herbert. And Jackie took his "Away We Go" walk from Harry Ritz. I love them too, but none of them were 100% original.

Never heard of ritz or herbert. long forgotten. durante almost the same for him. The Three Stooges are still the most popular of them all since they made there first film in 1930. 87 years ago. NYUK NYUK NYUK

True, they have outlasted most of their contemporaries. It's a shame that they didn't get the recognition they deserved until years later though. And I always found it odd that Gleason never made reference to them (that I'm aware of) since they were from Bensonhurst and all.

I like Hugh Herbert, sad he's forgotten, along with some of the others like The Ritz brothers, Olsen & Johnson, Wheeler & Woolsey, and from across the pond Arthur Askey.

WANT to talk brothers comedy team, huh. ALL right tell me what brothers were more funny than the HOROWITZ CLAN. The three younger brothers of five in order of age SAMUEL, MOSES AND JEROME. AKA kNown AS SHEMP, MOE AND CURLY. i rest my case.

The Marx Brothers deserve a mention in that category, but their body of work is so much smaller. And as much as the Stooges wanted to make features, the shorts thankfully didn't leave any room for unnecessary subplots and musical numbers.
