...the last great legend of Sinatra's friends is gone, he even appeared with Joe Pesci, not just in Casino, but in Snickers...

A very sad day. Don is legitimately one of the funniest human beings to ever walk the face of the earth. He's unarguably the greatest insult comic of all time. He worked with all the greats. I'll never forget him.

RIP Don Rickles

Very sad. I didn't see this coming, despite his age. Another legend is gone. :(

One of the most colorful characters ever. Don't know what he's saying here, on the set of "Run Silent Run Deep" (1958), but probably something like, "HE gets the role of sub commander instead of me ?!"

Always made me laugh, and was a favorite of my parents', as well.

I always thought that CPO Sharkey was a very underrated sitcom, too.

RIP "Mr. Warmth"

Hopefully Mr. Rickles wasn't called "Hockey Puck" by St. Peter when he arrived at the gates of Heaven.

RIP. Although I am not a fan of CPO Sharkey, I think he was very funny. Can't wait to see him on Carson tonight.

Found out what he's saying - "He can't act !" OK, Rickles, that's pretty good-I mean, great ! Yeah, I'm going to watch the show, too. Thanks for the heads-up, Svenfan.

A true great. It felt like a don't-miss-event whenever he was on with Carson.
They were always among the funniest Carson shows ever. When he was on any talk show it was a "don't miss," but the Carson shows were special. It also seemed amazing, that no matter how old he got, he never lost his timing and could still be genuinely funny. A very funny man.

St. Peter: "What are you doing here, hockey puck?"

Don: "Just let me in, dummy!":D

Another thing to recall about Rickles was that pretty much everyone who ever talked about him described him as a truly kind and caring human being, despite his on screen persona of being nasty and insulting.

He was great on an early "Tales from the Crypt" episode as a ventriloquist with a conjoined twin for a hand.
