I recently decided to buy the series on DVD because watching it on Logo was too much! The editing was terrible and there were no ending credits for any of their shows.

I searched high and low for the DVD sets of the show only to find that they are pretty much out of print and are only available as collector's items for almost $400 (about $35 or more for individual seasons and $400 as a set).

As luck would have it, I found that buying each season on Amazon instead of buying them as a set would be a little easier. While it was not cheap, I spent a little under $200 for the entire series.

Considering that it does not get aired that much, I am happy about my purchase. Let the binge watching begin!

Actually, the Desiging Women DVDs were always kind of high priced for some reason I don't know why. It looks like only Season 1 is out of print. The others are still readily available.

One of my favorite shows. I bought all the seasons when they came out. Yes, they've always been kinda high priced.

OH Nuts!

When you REALLY want a show, sometimes you just gotta go for it. But I'm much more frugal these days--a few of the shows I bought early on, at a "great" price are now selling brand new for 1/3 or 1/4 of what I paid. I don't regret paying $150-160 for I Love Lucy and Sex And The City. I just more willing to wait-many things show up at my library or through a few generous souls posting stuff on You Tube.

But anyways, ENJOY. IMO, Bernice is a hoot.

It does not appear to me that Shout wants to give anymore attention to Designing Women on DVD despite the following. I would love to see a complete series boxed set with extras or even something where they release the same material in a jumbo box for an extremely lower price. CBS/Paramount and Sony are good for releasing complete series like that. I don't particularly like how the discs are usually packaged but those sets are at least affordable.

I have no problem spending a little extra for my favorite classics, but I usually like to hold out and see if the price drops after a few months (several years for this show). Unfortunately, the price never dropped on the DVDs for this show.
