Bob Schiller was a screenwriter who penned many of your favorite Lucy episodes. Although most notable for his work on "I Love Lucy" , he also wrote for shows such as The Flip Wilson Show , All In The Family , and The Carol Burnett Show. He frequently collaborated with fellow writer\producer Bob Weiskopf on "I Love Lucy" and many other shows. As of 2017 , Schiller is one of a handful of members of " I Love Lucy " that is still alive. Desi Arnaz died in 1986 from Lung Cancer , Lucille Ball died in 1989 from an aortic aneurysm , Bill Frawley died in 1966 from a heart attack and Vivian Vance died in 1979 from cancer. Schiller is 98 years old

That's great that Bob Schiller is still around. He came on in season 5 and stayed through the last episode of the ninth year (in the one-hour format).

He's a super nice guy. I had the honor and great privilege (thanks to a friend of mine) of spending an afternoon at his beautiful home discussing his long and very successful career. We were in a room near the front entrance (sort of a library) where he had bound volumes of many of the scripts he had written over the years, including All in the Family and Maude. He was SO gracious. He let us hang around with him for hours, then so kindly took us to lunch at his club where many celebrities are members. That was about 10 years ago and it's a day I will never forget. I love this man! I subsequently sent him a copy of an interview he and his late partner, Bob Weiskopf, did with Joan Rivers (which he had not seen). It was the VERY LEAST I could do. He wrote me the kindest letter afterwards. He is the epitome of class.
