View Full Version : Worst Revamping Ever?

I'm curious as to what everyone thinks is the worst revamping of a television show, be it sitcom or otherwise.

For me, it's hard to beat Galactica: 1980. I was a huge fan of the original series, but this thing just had none of the original's appeal. All but two of the original characters (three I guess if you count Troy as being Boxey) were dead or gone, they changed the tone to appeal to kids, and they had replacement characters that were lacking, to say the least.

It wasn't totally the creators' fault. I think ABC insisted the show be made much cheaper and that it be aired at 6 PM Central Time. Given those boundaries, nobody could have made that thing shine. :(

Charlie Angels 2011 must be up there on this list. I would also cite Melrose Place from the CW. That was a reboot with no heart, no soul and that failed to understand the qualities that made the original series so popular; it had heart, it had a sense of humor and it had characters that you could enjoy watching.
