Charlie’s Angels was hugely popular when it first aired on ABC back in 1976. Produced by Aaron Spelling, the show lasted five seasons, and for its first two seasons, it was a top ten hit in the Nielsen ratings. Even though it’s been over 35 years since the show was cancelled back in 1981, the show continues to have a pop culture following, even spawning two feature films that featured Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, as well as a TV reboot that starred Minka Kelly. Because Charlie’s Angels is such a pop culture phenomenon, we have 9 things you didn’t know the show:

I didn't realize that Kate Jackson was fired. I always thought that she quit.

She was not fired, she quit. Although from all the interviews I've heard and things I've read, certain people wanted her fired. Kate became disgruntled and more demanding as the show went on, especially during the 3rd season.

Unlike Farrah, Kate renegotiated her contract with Spelling several times, getting some very nice pay increases along the way (but during that same time period, Farrah's earning potential went through the roof... she definitely did the right thing by leaving).

I think I read that Kate was making around 40K (could be 50K, I forget) per week during season 3. However, the 'Kramer vs. Kramer' thing really stuck in her craw and that was basically the last straw.

They seriously need to do an Angels reunion. I know it's a bit bittersweet without Farrah, but surely they could do a tribute to her during the show, and for David Doyle and John Forsythe, too.

I just think it would be cool to see most of the cast together again (and some for the first time, i.e. Tanya and Shelley).

It'll almost certainly never happen, but I can always dream.
