I was thinking of things that were commonplace during the 50's early 60's that you would not do today. It was the episode where Wally and the guys sign up to be scouts, but Beaver was too young.

Beaver walks home in the dark. I was a free-range kid, but I would not be allowed to walk home like that today.

What else was done in the show that would not be commonplace today?

That guy who offers to drive Chuckie home when he's alone in the store in Chuckie's New Shoes would not happen. That guy could be a pedophile and Chuckie could have been with his mother. You don't just drive a kid home who's in a store. Also imagine driving all those boys in the back of the truck miles and miles. (Lonesome Beaver) They were all standing up. Fooling around one or more would fall out.

In general, Ward and June many times didn't know where the Beaver was. How many times do we hear, "Wally, go out and find the Beaver"? These days, with an 8, 9 or 10 year old, you'd ALWAYS want to know exactly where they are.
