Interesting question. There are so many classic UM segments to choose from:

1. Circleville Letters
2. "Diabolical Minds" segment with Marie Hilley
3. Charlotte Polis
4. Fathers Reynaldo and Kerrigan
5. Patricia Meehan

Not sure if I mentioned it to anyone, but I've been kicking around the idea of emailing the actress who played Marie Hilley in the segment. She's now a professor of law. Looks like her specialties are in maritime law and entertainment law. She wrote a pretty fascinating law article lambasting a now-cancelled legal show on TV.

Anyway-- I did e-mail her last week. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.

I believe he passed away a few years back. From the segment itself I thought he was innocent, but just have not looked into the case in depth.

I do not believe Paul Freshour was the Circleville writer. There's another regular on here (TheCars1986) who did extensive research into this-- I'm probably botching up the summary of his research, but there were TWO Circleville writers, and neither one was Paul.

I do not believe Paul Freshour was the Circleville writer. There's another regular on here (TheCars1986) who did extensive research into this-- I'm probably botching up the summary of his research, but there were TWO Circleville writers, and neither one was Paul.

From my understanding of what Martin Yant told me, there was an original Cirvleville writer who was jealous of the relationship between Marry Gillespie and the school superintendent, and he was the one writing all of the letters. When Paul Freshour and his wife went through a messy divorce, the ex-wife began to write letters in an effort to frame Paul (which actually worked). The booby trap gun was a clear sign that Paul was set up, IMO.

This lines up pretty accurately with my own list. I'd probably substitute Charles Morgan and Blair Adams for 4 & 5.

I agree, the Hansen case is one of the most memorable cases and deserves alot of discussion. It also infuriates me because I believe the Son/Brother Donny, should be in Prison. If there is anyone with any new information about this case please share it with us.

Thanks for the info on Paul Freshour! I felt so bad for that man! The flippin' letters were still going out when he was in solitary for Christ sake!
