Whether Brian Forster was a better actor than Jeremy Gelbwalks was the topic of a different thread.
However some people wondered why such a different looking kid actor was chosen to replace Jeremy Gelbwalks.
I recall the teen magazines of that time did not address it much. They focused on David Cassidy and Susan Dey. But I recall a faint indication that Jeremy just appeared to possibly be a different ethnicity than the rest of the family. He looked like he could have been Hispanic or Bengali.

But if an actor who looked more like Jeremy were to have been chosen who would that have been?

It seems to me that if Danny were to be replaced that one actor who would have been a good replacement ( at least as far as his red hair was concerned) was Johnny Whittaker who played "Jody" in Family Affair. Both Johnny WHittaker and Danny Bonaduce were born in 1959

But a child actor who might have looked more like the original "Chris' might have been Michael-James Wixted who played in several movies and once played a run-away boy in Family Affair.

He was born a few months after Jeremy Gelbwalks in 1961.

Any other ideas?
