i think this was the best intro, so far

this whole show is centered around eric.

they are afraid that people would rebel, if eric is in a remake

but at the same time, i think they know that the show wouldnt fly, without him

and besides, too much time has gone - everyone is too different

i am critical of aspects of the show, but only because i do like it a lot. and i dont like to see characters misrepresented, for the sake of making it more exciting, etc.

case in point in this episode was the diary. it was wrong in so many ways

1) lucy would have that under lock and key. anyone writing a diary keeps it protected and private.

2) ben is a fairly mature person, and is 23. there is no way in hell that he would lie on lucy's bed, reading her diary (with some stupid excuse of hoping to find mary's phone number)

3) no way in hell that kevin would have simply walked away, and say he would have nothing to do with it. he would have made sure that ben respected lucy, the girl he supposedly loves

4) no way that kevin is gonna use words in lucy's diary to give her an answer to her question

5) while kevin might have gotten away with "i am not ready (or i do not have the desire) to speak about old girlfriends" with most people, this is not the case with lucy. kevin is 25. lucy is 19, studying to be a minister, comes from a highly christian house, where just about everyone knows that the family practices christian sexuality. so extremely early on in the relationship, kevin could ascertain that there is a 99.9999% chance that lucy is still a virgin. and not only that, but that virginity is gonna be a big thing to her. so for kevin to continue on with the relationship, like he did, he should have already been prepared to give her a straight answer, instead of a lot of double talk. and kevin would have been, if the writers had stayed true to the characters.

instead of making things exciting, if they stayed true to character, they could make it even better, in the long run. like in this episode with kevin and robbie. kevin actually did the mature thing with robbie by not telling lucy about the real reason he was angry. and it made a much better story, for it.
