Does anyone know the back story on Mr. Dorfman? He kind of disappeared after season 1 or early in season 2...... By season 3 the mailman was Mr. Jenkins.... Money dispute? Sickness? Just odd that they would not even use his name on the show by season 3...........

It is funny and curious. Dorfman was one of those characters from the first season who just disappeared, like Joey and Mrs. Holland, but were mentioned occasionally after their last appearance. Your guess is as good as mine as to why.
I agree that Dorfman seemed like he was in more than five episodes. A few other characters are like that, too. According to IMDB, Johnny Brady and Mr. Krinkie were seen in only nine episodes, Mr. Finch and Charlie Brady in six each, and Joey was in only five. Opie Swanson was in three.

What I'm reading here doesn't make sense. I know it was Robert Williams who played the postman on Dennis The Menace AND he also played Barney the postman on Hazel. 2 different Columbia TV shows and Robert Williams played the same part, though named differently. Now what doesn't make sense is that he is not given any credit for his role as postman either here or on IMDB. If I hadn't seen both of these entire series' 15 times or more over and over I'd never know Robert Williams was any part (though he is mentioned as the postman on Hazel). Anyway, it was Robert (I believe he also went by middle initial B.) Williams who played the postman on Dennis & on Hazel. This ain't an opinion it's a fact.
