I think it was New York. I remember a case where a young couple were traveling on a touring ferry. Maybe it was the Hudson River (sorry I don't know New York). But I remember there being a description of a man that paid attention to them on the boat or conversed with them. Then befriended them. I guess they all got off at the same stop. Then later on the young couple was found dead. I can't remember what the case was though. It's one of those ones that has a very little chance of being solved. That's the feeling I got. This was one of the early episodes from the show.
