Direct TV is having a free weekend preview and one of the channels that I'm getting is a channel called TV One and I would like to know if anyone has heard of this channel? From what Mom and I have seen of TV One it shows Sanford And Son and other sitcoms as well
What else can you tell me about TV One?

I don't know too much about it other than hearing of it a few times the Wikipedia article but it appears to basically be Radio One & Comcast's attempt to make a BET competitor channel.

TV One is geared towards AA with reruns such as Good Times, Sandford and Son and the Jeffersons.
It also has original programming such as the series Unsung, which features artists with less recognition such as, Ike turner, Otis Redding and Hi Five. There's also Unsung Hollywood, with Eartha Kitt and Jim Brown. Crime shows like For my Man and Fatal Attraction, which is like Snapped, but the focus is on stories about POC.
I've had Tv One for years, for most it picked up where BET dropped the ball.

When I went to see my parents, TV One showed a lot of Good Times and especially Sanford and Son, both with numerous episodes. Sanford and Son has been a favorite since I was a child, and I forgot really how funny and good Good Times was pre- DAMN DAMN DAMN. However I can watch both shows on YouTube so no biggie., but its actually a good channel and much, much much better than BET. Enjoy.
