This question gives you more freedom than simply asking for your favorite decade.

For me I say 1965-1975. About 80% of my favorite shows fall somewhere within that span.

I was going to say 1966-1976! The year Bewitched and Jeannie went to color. Also, the year Dark Shadows started, through The Brady Bunch years and Josie and the Pussycats to the start of Charlie's Angels and The Bionic Woman.

1975-1985

1959-1969

I'd say 1961-1971. A truly great period for movies and music too.

1982-1992...that was when I was growing-up, but it kept the bridge of old comedy and new comedy.

1985-1995

95-05 should cover most of my favorite series: Frasier, Roseanne, Friends, Seinfeld, The Nanny, X-Files, Ally McBeal, Buffy, partially The Wire and Deadwood.

1969-1979

I think the 1970's was an incredible decade for both sitcoms and detective/police shows.

I"m going to say 1967-1977.

Probably 1957-1967, when several great, mid-1950s series were hitting their stride, and also encompassing most of the best 1960s series and one-season wonders. TV production was generally getting slicker, Hollywood steadily lost its aversion to TV as competition to the movie business, more series were being shot on film while videotape was also first used and was somewhat perfected, and overall, higher-quality series and specials were being made to encourage people to buy their first or second TV, or their first color TV.

--although that period excludes some of my top comedies from before and after ('Classic 39' Honeymooners, Monty Python's Flying Circus, WKRP in Cincinnati, Taxi, Barney Miller, SCTV), as well as other stuff (the first couple of seasons of Gunsmoke and Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Land of the Giants, Hawaii Five-0 (original), Columbo, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Lost, Deadwood, etc).

1985-1995 is probably the era I'd choose. Most of my favorite shows debuted sometime between these dates (give or take a year or two


The next period I'd consider as my runner-up is probably, 1996-2005.

TV from 75-85 is most endearing to me.

For Sports TV: any decade since the 1960s
For Late Night TV: 1972 to 1982, 1980 to 1990 & 1986 to 1996
For Breakfast TV: 1975 to 1985 & 1986 to 1996
For Game Shows: 1960 to 1970, 1971 to 1981 & 1982 to 1992
For Primetime TV: 1965 to 1975, 1975 to 1985 & 1985 to 1995
For Saturday Morning TV: 1975 to 1985 & 1986 to 1996

1963-1973

1955 through 1965

I would probably guesstimate 1965-75 or the whereabouts.

Difficult question.I'll also go with 1965-75. Really an amazing time for TV in general. lt would be easier though for me to pick my favorite 15 year period of television.That would be around 1963-78.So many of the all time greats and many of my favorite shows were originally on the air during that time whether they had their full run during that time,were somewhere in the middle of their runs, just starting out or finishing.

For me, it was 1975-1985. But of course, that's when I watched the most television. I was a kid and a teen.
