Matthew Fox was on a major career roll for two decades as he headlined not one but two popular shows in a row, with six seasons of the family drama Party of Five and then six seasons of the sci-fi mystery series phenomenon Lost shortly thereafter. As a result of this pair of beloved series, he had the rare distinction of being both a heartthrob and a guy's guy, where audiences were concerned, and seemed well-poised to launch from his wild islandic adventures straight into the big time.

But the 2010s haven't been quite as kind to Fox, despite some notable big screen efforts on his part. Here are a few theories that explore why Matthew Fox has seemed so … lost lately.

According to off-hand gossip from Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/c462zd/which_actoractress_are_you_surprised_didnt_make_it/erv7lyu/), several people who have interacted with Fox over a certain period of time can confirm that he's major a-hole. Apparently, he was just really rude and egotistical to everybody - fame had really gotten to his head. He was also was a super obnoxious neighbor too - parties and noise and the like.

He was sued for assaulting a female bus driver while being drunk as hell. He admitted he had issues with alcohol. The suit was dropped later. Not a wife but accusations like that never help a career.

I'm started to seriously wonder if Matthew Fox has legitimately been blackballed from Hollywood. He had a major part in World War Z and they also just cut it all out. And according to IMDb (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0289142/?ref_=nv_sr_1?ref_=nv_sr_1) and he hasn't been in anything since 2015.

Then again, Fox's problem is that he really excels at playing the good looking ordinary guy, and Hollywood has a ton of those, so he just didn't get lucky. And he arguably doesn't have the acting chops that would allow him to get a meatier role.
