Now that St. Patrick's Day is around the corner I would like to know if anyone has tried traditional Irish cuisine before? My favorite Irish food is corned beef and it is so good to eat by itself and with a good spoonful of potatoes and my second thing to do with corned beef is to have it in a sandwich on a King's Hawaiian Roll
What's your favorite Irish Cuisine?

Being Irish-American, yes I have tried traditional Irish cuisines; my favorite is Colcannon with kale (instead of cabbage). Colcannon is very easy to make and is quite delicious, and perfect with a corned beef dish.

To me it tastes the same, the differences are the size, and Irish bacon tends not to be as "crispy" as its American counterpart. It is like having fried sliced ham. If you have any Irish pubs (that caters traditional Irish dishes) and ask for a "typical" Irish breakfast, or just go to you local grocer and ask if they sell British/Irish rashers.

That type of bacon seems to be the norm all over Europe. I had no idea until I ordered it at multiple places. I'm not a fan of it at all so I learned that it's no bacon when overseas.

Colcannon sounds pretty amazing Hollywood Rock Chic. I had never even heard of it but my mom has an Irish cookbook with dozens of Irish recipes. We haven't tried any of the recipes in the book but the food is great

I actually like both American and Irish bacon, which I guess is very similar to Canadian variety.

When I was learning about Ireland and St. Patrick's Day at school I had to make Irish soda bread and it was good and then we had corned beef for lunch and it was great. Do you also like Irish soda bread too?

That was wonderful that you liked Irish soda bread Hollywood Rock Chic. I didn't know it tasted delicious until my teacher made some for us and my class loved it. Right now my mom and I keep looking at the supermarket ads to see if corned beef is on sale because we always buy two packages of it to make for snacks and sandwiches

I'm craving Boxty -(potato pancakes). Haven't had any for years. They are
so good! I like soda bread, also, but without the raisins.

One delicious Irish cuisine that is part of an Irish breakfast is a bowl of Irish oatmeal and I tried some for my breakfast once and it was so good but I have never have found Irish oatmeal at the store since. I recommend you try Irish oatmeal for St. Patrick's Day breakfast and you will be shocked at how great it tastes

Today I had corned beef for dinner today and it tasted so good and I cooked it in our pressure cooker and it came out great. In fact I'm gonna buy more corned beef and some cabbage so that I can be ready for St. Patrick's Day dinner

My sister is planning on making Corned Beef and Cabbage, she invited us over for St. Patrick's Day Dinner...but I dunno if that'll happen since my old man basically blew-up as we went home!

I'm not to happy with him right now...

Now that today's St. Patrick's Day I cannot wait to have corned beef for dinner with loads of potatoes and my mom does a whole St. Patrick's Day feast that starts with putting the corned beef in the pot and then in the afternoon Mom cooks the cabbage and then comes the potatoes and that's how we do our St. Patrick's Day dinner and while we eat we play St. Patrick's Day music too
Hope everyone has a good St. Patrick's Day dinner tomorrow

I'll try to get a reuben sandwich today tho...

At least you have a job, and are doing something; there are a lot of unemployed people out there wishing that they are working. Anyway, I am sorry that you are unhappy with your job. I hope your future days are a lot brighter. :)

well I picked up a corned beef and some cabbage, but I'll be making it on Saturday (not enough time to do it tonight)

but for TRUE Irish cuisine, you really need to start off with a great big bowl of Irish Whiskey - so says my dear departed Irish Grandmother Patty O'Malley, God rest her poor soul.

I could use some good vibes now...I can't even find a woman and I feel that I'll never have a family!

But yesterday afternoon I had a Reuben Sandwich. That's what probably kicked-open the Corned Beef tradition on St. Patrick's Day.

And if my sister doesn't make Corned Beef tomorrow and has us at her house...I'll make it this week...as well as Pork and Sauerkraut and maybe Lasagna.

Mom and I had leftover corned beef for lunch and it tasted great after yesterday and I had a corned beef sandwich and then corned beef by itself and how I had my sandwich is that I didn't buy my King's Hawaiian Rolls to use on my sandwich but instead I bought mini sandwich rolls called slider rolls and they were good. In fact next week I might check the grocery store to see if corned beef is on sale now that St. Patrick's Day is over. Irish cuisine is so nice to eat and is truly great tasting

Interestingly enough (and I know im a bit late haha), most Irish do not eat corned beef on St. Patricks day (if they celebrate it at all). Typically an Irish st. pats dinner consists of different sausages, boiled potatoes and carrots, abd a latge chunk of lamb. Corned beef and cabbage is typically a North American tradition started by Irish immigrants in the late 1800s.

This St. Patrick's Day i'm having corned beef again and Mom and I had some for dinner yesterday and it was delicious. I actually panicked that we were not gonna have corned beef for St. Patrick's Day but we finally got two packages. I couldn't find St. Patrick's Day dessert but my St. Patrick's Day dinner will be so great this year

Corned beef and cabbage isn't "Traditional Irish Cuisine". Corned beef was used by Irish-American immigrants as a substitute for bacon or lamb.

The association of corned beef and cabbage with St. Patrick's Day is an American custom.

I had three servings of corned beef yesterday and our St. Patrick's Day dinner was so good we had corned beef and cabbage but I got lucky and had macaroni and cheese with my corned beef which is also a great sidedish to corned beef if you're not crazy about cabbage and for dessert I had green cupcakes
