Jessica Biel, who turns 35, first became known as Mary Camden on 7th Heaven. For a while Biel, with her athletic physique and tough-girl demeanor, seemed about to break out as an action heroine, but none of her ventures in that direction (Blade: Trinity, Stealth, etc.) were successful.

Jessica Biel is turning 36 today. She first became known as a teenager, for her regular role as Mary Camden on 7th Heaven, the most widely-watched series in the history of the WB network. The show gave her a high profile, although not always completely positive (Google her name and “Gear magazine” for one an example of the downside). During the show’s early years she also made her feature film debut in Ulee’s Gold.
During the 2000s, Biel appeared in a number of major films—as the Final Girl, Erin, in the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, as Abby Whistler in Blade: Trinity, in the period drama The Illusionist, in the film adaptation of The A-Team, and in the remake of Total Recall—without really becoming a major star. More recently she has appeared in a number of indie features. Last year she returned to television as the star and a producer of the USA Network miniseries The Sinner—she received a pair of Golden Globe nominations, one as a producer, the other for Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie.
