I think people try to hold onto the past (for nostalgia reasons) so it doesn't surprise me that "the classics" are still classics. By the way, they're classics for a reason....timeless comedy, great actors, and it was CLEAN (for the most part).
It's actually embarrassing to sit down with a group of people and watch a current series on TV.
Keep playing the classics!

I can't fathom anyone over ten watching The Brady Bunch.
It should be clear by now that the "realistic," preaching sitcoms - including All in the Family, Maude, MASH, The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Designing Women, and Murphy Brown - were preaching a false realism. I can't say that I'm "amazed" that people still watch them, because their goal was mostly to stop people from approaching serious subjects in an analytical way, and they've been largely successful at that.
Anyone that looks to TV for "preaching" in the first place is completely clueless. I enjoy all (except for MASH) of the shows you mentioned and got nothing but pure entertainment from them. Nothing more.

Guess I'm 10 at heart, I still get a kick out of watching it at 46.

I'm not a big fan of Donna Reed, Mr. Ed, The Brady Bunch, Bewitched, or Petticoat Junction because I just found them bland. But it doesn't amaze me that some people like them because they're still better than most of TV today (when it comes to being classy and having the right morals).

I'd have to say ILL, I knew someone who dressed as Lucy and Ricky as a Halloween costume...and they're millennials!
Shows like that seem to be popular even today!

I'll chime in on the Sci-Fi department. :ufo: Among my favorite shows are The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Lost in Space, The Time Tunnel, Land of the Giants and the granddaddy of them all, Star Trek. :D
