The same way Jan was able to dance relatively well when she was part of The Silver Platters to being booted out of the ballet recital for having two left feet.

The same way Barney Fife and Lucy Ricardo could sing fairly decently unless the script called for them to be way off key.

The same way Debra Barone started out as a fairly good cook until the writers decided she wasn't.

The only reason Bobby didn't become Johnny Bravo is that he didn't fit the suit!!

He could have later learned to, even had been taught, to sing.
It's less believable that the four youngest suddenly couldn't sing at the end of the Davy Jones episode.
