I was listening to Freddie's album from 1975 today and I still get surprised at how YOUNG he sounds. He was a baby............ :crying:

Yeah, it's sad...so young! I have parts of that album that I dowloaded off of AudioGalaxy and I listen to it every once in a while. He was so funny!
I have the album, too, but no record player! I'm dying to hear the rest of the album !:music:

I wish I was there in Chicago when he performed that album. When I hear him speaking there's a part that I know he's demonstrating to the audience a ballet movement or something like that. The audience is hysterical.... I have to imagine him performing it. Freddie was so gifted. His impersonations of different people were so hilarious.

I agree, when you listen to this album you would swear that all the people he is impersonating--his mother and father, Mr. Rivera (the superintendent of the apartment building who is the origin of "Ees no my chob!"), Nat and the kung fu instructor, to name a few--were all there onstage with Freddie! :seeya: His own unique way of speaking gets totally lost in the accents of these other people!

As for imagining his moves, this past weekend I watched the DVD of "West Side Story" that my parents gave me for my last birthday, and when I heard the whistling at the beginning, I immediately thought of how Freddie does that same whistle in his comedy routine, when he is talking about what that movie did to the reputation of Puerto Ricans in the U. S.--LOL! (Freddie does the whistle more loudly and clearly than on the movie soundtrack, BTW--on headphones it is almost unbearable! ) I can just see him puckering up , and after he whistles, his graceful legs doing some of those distinctive dance steps  and his long fingers snapping! Mmmm! :loveya:

I have the CD as well as the album. The CD is hard to find but can be ordered over the internet or special ordered thru a local record store. It is sooo funny! :)

When I saw that CD cover I thought of Freddie when he first comes on the Chicago stage and he says
"LOOKING GOOD"......................

His voice drops down a couple of decibles. LOL..................

He was a comic genius!!!

I agree with you all. Every word, every chuckle, every breath, MMMM, when I listen with my earphones on I can't get enough. I have played my CD probably a hundred times and I still laugh at the jokes and melt when he whispers "Maria, I love you" (a derivative of my first name :D ) MMMMMMMMMM.... Oh Baby, now my heart rate is going! I have to listen to it again! :happyface

I agree with Luckymama about listening to the comedy with ear phones on. Hearing him breath as well as laugh at his own jokes is priceless! I am the same way when I downloaded the song he sang back up with Tony Orlando and Dawn, The song "to be with you" . I have the album but was never able to hear the song till I found that song on the internet. I burned it on a cd. Listening to him sing in the back ground on that song is breath taking!!! Words can not describe what that man does to me everytime I hear him sing!!!!

I just listened to that last nite! What a great comedy album & the comic is sooo cute! :) :)

Oh, the booger joke is just hysterical!  When he says that if you search the guy I bet you find some tissues, I can just picture Freddie imitating the guy with the booger & then reaching & pulling a tissue or hankie out of his pocket to demonstrate. I wonder what he really did on stage when he told that one? Anyone know? What a riot! :D :)

I did up a pic of Freddie doing the booger joke. It's not the greatest tho but I tried LOL! I took a pic of him touching his nose (Wonder what was up with that?) & then put a scan of a hankerchief over it to create it... Enjoy! :)

I tried to do a version of the pic where it sort of shows him in motion. It's not really motion tho as I don't know how to do that but here goes...

Hey Cheryl! It can be the booger joke. Either that or he's imitating the cop.

I love it when he opens the car door and closes the door with his mouth. Like a sound like "Che-Ching"........

Here's another pic of him doing his stuff he did so well...

I just noticed in this pic something I hadn't noticed before. One of the pockets of his jacket is bulging full as if it had a packet of cigarrettes & a hankie in it. I bet that's cuz he had on those tight jeans with too small pockets...

I'm starting to notice everything on his handsome body... :)

Oh boy! Breathe in,Breathe out.

It's a very hilarious CD though and when I first got it, I listened to it and in the first minute I laughed so hard and loud that my mother came into the room to see what was wrong with me.

My favorite part was when he was telling the joke about how to out-smart a robber by showing him a booger.
