If you can recall, when the lady that was writing the book visited Mel in jail, a guy who fit the description of the killer came to visit Mel. This guy was riding a motorcycle just like the killer was. Why didn't she get the visitation log pulled? They would have had a record of him plus you have to show ID to get into a jail. She really messed that one up!!!

My guess is the jail's security might have been lenient to the point of either not requiring ID checks and letting it slide or the man walked in with a fake ID.

My guess is he gave a fake ID. If the guy was a hired killer, there's no doubt he'd have false credentials so he couldn't be traced.

This issue has always bothered me. It seemed simple logic, yet never came up in the segment.
