Lauren Graham To Recur on "Curb Your Enthusiasm"

Coming off reprising her starring role in "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" on Netfllix, Lauren Graham has booked two high-profile TV gigs.

She has been tapped as the lead of Fox’s single-camera comedy pilot "Linda from HR", lifting the contingency on the project. Additionally, she is set to recur on the upcoming new season of Larry David’s HBO comedy series "Curb Your Enthusiasm".

As usual, David is keeping details about the upcoming ninth season of "Curb" under wraps, including Graham’s character.

Don’t bother trying to harness your excitement, "Gilmore Girls" fans: Lauren Graham will indeed make a guest appearance (or two or three) in "Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s" upcoming ninth season.

“It was fantastic,” Graham shares, adding that she worked with series creator and star Larry David “almost exclusively” during her multi-episode arc. “There really is no greater joy than actually making Larry David laugh. And he really laughs hard.”



On "Curb", which is slated to return this fall after a six-year-hiatus, Graham teases that she plays, “someone who has very colorful language.”

It was her first gig after wrapping Netflix’s "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" and, as she explains, “It was the perfect answer to ‘What do I do now?!’ because this character is completely not me at all. I speak in a way that I don’t speak ever.”



"Curb‘s" improvisational process made the role all the more challenging for Graham.

“All you get is an outline and then you improvise around it,” she explains, before recalling a scene she shared with David and "Curb" staple Ted Danson in which "The Good Place" actor, “was like, 'This is cable. You can really let loose. Think of the craziest thing possible.' And my brain so doesn’t work that way.”

Lauren Graham To Play Larry's Love Interest on "Curb Your Enthusiasm"

Lauren Graham’s first gig after reprising her role as Lorelai on the "Gilmore Girls" revival will be a multi-episode guest arc on "Curb Your Enthusiasm". And as it turns out, Larry David will think she’s prettay, prettay.

Graham plays an NBC censor who becomes a love interest for Larry in the HBO comedy’s ninth season.



“Larry’s always had a complicated relationship with NBC censors. Now he’s dating one,” "Curb" executive producer Jeff Schaffer tells EW.

“This is a pretty good relationship in spite of the fact that she’s an NBC censor. She does have a kid. And that can complicate things.”

“The very first scene of her story was the first time she was on set, and she had to say the filthiest things on the planet,” says executive producer Jeff Schaffer. “She was laughing and saying, ‘Oh, my dad was going to be so happy that I was on Curb.’ Larry knew her a little bit socially and just got the great vibe that Lauren gives off.” He also says it was a “lucky coincidence” that David dated an NBC censor after his real-life alter ego made the lives of NBC censors miserable on SNL.
