Majel Barrett-Roddenberry (1932-2008) was known as the “First Lady of Star Trek” for her marriage to Gene Roddenberry and her involvement in several Star Trek series and feature films. She played Christine Chapel in The Original Series as well as Number One in the pilot episode, and Lwaxana Troi on The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine.
