Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have been working like dogs together in the studio. The surviving members of The Beatles took a photo together as they broke from collaborating on new material for Starr’s forthcoming album, EW has confirmed.

Starr, who played drums as part of the Fab Four between 1962 and 1970, tweeted the shot on Sunday evening from his Los Angeles studio, teasing his longtime friend’s instrumental contributions to his latest project.

“Thanks for coming over man and playing Great bass,” the 76-year-old wrote. “I love you man peace and love.”

The planned LP, Starr’s first since releasing Postcards from Paradise in 2015, is reportedly due for release later this year. The collection does not yet have a premiere date or a title.

Starr embarked on a world tour in 2016 and teased the 2017 album, on which he also worked with Toto guitarist Steve Lukather, to Billboard last June.

“We’ve got the tracks down; now we have to write the words,” he said. “We know where it’s going. We’ve got the idea. We’ve got the first verse of one of them. The second will be a ballad. We’re gonna finish them while we’re on the road.”

I think that's cool...I wonder if Paul and Ringo would ever find some John Lennon and George Harrison songs that weren't released and put their twist to them...like what they did to "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love"?
