Sitcomsonline may have a separate category for cartoons but "Wait 'Till Your Father Gets Home" was not on on Saturday mornings and was meant to be a cartoon more for adults who watch TV in the evenings.
And from what I recall, the same was true with The Flintstones, and "Where's Huddles?"
Also, I know that The Flintstones was shown during the evening hours back in the late 60s ( or that is what I best recollect) but I also recall that "Wait 'Till Your Father Gets Home" seemed to be an attempt to make another cartoon show like the Flintstones. The adventures that the family had were not suitable for children actually. I recall one episode in which the daughter of the family, "Alice" once went on a date and came back with her clothes torn. And the son of the family, Chet, joined a bunch of protesters and got in trouble with the police. In another episode a male nudist visited the family. It even seemed to be a cartoon version of "All In The Family."
But I looked up on the internet both "Where's Huddles" and "Wait 'Till Your Father Gets Home" and was surprised to see that "Where's Huddles" premiered , and was only briefly on the air for the summer of 1970 (or that is what I understand) but "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home" was on the air from 1972 to 1974.
I don't recall hearing of Where's Huddles before Wait 'Till Your Father Gets Home.
Anyway, The Flintstones even tackled the subject of Wilma getting pregnant and having a baby.
"Where's Huddles" handled the subject of Huddles thinking that his neighbor and (male) football teammate, "Bubba" was pregnant .
No big deal, but it seems that these cartoons were sitcoms and not just Saturday-morning kids stuff.
