On this day in history tragedy struck the Earnhardt family when Dale Earnhardt got turned by Sterling Marlin and crashed head on into a wall. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was a great NASCAR driver and many of us NASCAR fans still miss him to this day. Rest in peace.

He was and he still is my most favorite.

I remember when Dale Earnhardt passed away that it was a sad day for NASCAR fans and I couldn't believe that Dale Earnhardt had died and as a NASCAR fan myself this tragedy could've been prevented and I think NASCAR really did an awesome memorial tribute by having Kevin Harvick be his replacement. But Dale Earnhardt will always and still is one of NASCAR's top drivers in history
