The article at the link below this was published last May, but I thought I'd share it anyway (in case it hasn't already been shared here). It lists 15 "fascinating facts" about the TV show Forensic Files. The facts include details that you may not have known about the long-running series.

Here are some interesting facts about the show:

- It was conceived as a true-crime version of the "whodunit" format.
- According to executive producer Paul Dowling, Peter Thomas rehearsed the scripts with his wife Stella as his audience.
- The producers actively sought "oh my god" moments.
- The OJ Simpson case helped increase the show's popularity.
- Peter Thomas was the only choice to narrate the show.

Great find!

Thank you.

I like how executive producer Paul Dowling was quoted as saying that Peter Thomas was his "first, last, and only choice" to narrate the show. When he heard Peter's voice, he knew that's who he wanted as the narrator of the show. It goes without saying that Paul Dowling couldn't envision anyone else for the job (although a substitute narrator was used for several one-hour specials that aired on TLC in 2001). It explains why, despite demands from viewers, he has made it clear that there won't be any more new episodes of FF, which ceased production in 2011. In the wake of Peter Thomas's death last year, he stated that Peter can't be replaced.
